Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has continued to post one performance after another particularly in the most critical area of roads infrastructure linkages.
At the moment the governor has ongoing construction of the key metropolitan linkage from Abu King Shuluwa Road - George Akume Road at International Market in Makurdi.
There is also ongoing asphalting of the key by-pass from Yaikyor - Tse- Poor which stretches over 7 kilometers linking the Makurdi - Gboko Road from Terwase Agbadu and the Makurdi - Otukpo which are both Federal Trunk A roads.
While the above named projects are both grade 'A' roads, there is also to be undertaken simultaneously the second surface-coating of the 24 kilometer Mobile Barracks - Welfare Quarters Road.
A few days back the Benue State Governor also directed the release of the sum of N500 million for commencement of work on a critical Trunk B road running through Ushongo and Konshisha local government areas of the state.
This particular road has ancillary linkages to neighbouring Cross River State connecting critical economic arteries between the two states with potential unquantifiable impact.
Fallout from such gathering of momentum in projects execution by the Benue State Governor is the inevitable continual change in narratives from the opposition camp in the state.
Where previously the narrative was that "Ortom has no single project to show" it shifted to "those projects Ortom is executing are not enough" or "Ortom's roads are not qualitative".
When grade'A' roads started rolling out from the administration across the state from Gboko, Makurdi, Otukpo, Vandeikya, Oju, the opposition beat a retreat in narrative to "Ortom had not built a fly-over".
However, Benue people who are the beneficiaries of those projects are appreciative of the impact on their every day lives and view those changing opposition narratives as nothing but comic relief.
