How Davido Raised 140 Million Naira In Two Hours.

What seems like a joke turns out a multi million Naira fund raising on social media  as Nigerian,  Davido, asked his colleagues and fans for one million naira each, to prove their allegiance.

Born David Adeleke, the music star posted a video on his Instagram Story calling on those he had helped in the music industry to send him a million naira.

Davido said, 

“We rise by lifting others abi? Me I don dey rise dey lifting others for the past 100 years. So I want to know who my friends are. All of my friends one one million Naira. They said we are 30BG. If you don’t send your own. You out of here. You are gone (sic).”

In less than an hour, the award-winning singer had made over N53 million.

Following his footsteps, other celebrities also shared their account details on their Instagram handles, asking for donations.

Etiko shared her account details with the caption, 

“Abeg I no go ask for 1million o. Please my own friends and lovers should just send 5k to this account and tag me. It will surely be appreciated…Love you guys!” (sic)

So far, Nigerian businessmen, Obi Cubana and Femi Otedola, were among those who answered Davido’s call for donations on Wednesday.

After sharing his account details on Twitter, the singer revealed that his aim was to get N100 million from his fans and colleagues.

The singer later shared screenshots of credit alerts and his bank account balance on his Instagram story to show the increase in his earnings.

He, however, appreciated some senders without mentioning the amount they sent.

According to Davido’s wishes on Instagram, most celebrities and fans sent him N1m each, while others sent him more or less.

The singer, however, did not disclose the amount sent to him from Femi Otedola, Obi Cubana, E-Money, Patoranking, and some others.

However Celebrities like Pasuma, Toke Makinwa, Don Jazzy, Focalistic, Ned Okonkwo, Ubi Franklin, Bella Shmurda, Friday Osanebi, Rema, Tunde Ednut, Larry Gaaga, Dorathy Bachor, Bizzle Osikoya Zlatan Ibile, Adekunle Gold, Mr Eazi, Nengi, Chike, Teni, Charles of Play, Cubana Chiefpriest, Naira Marley, M.I, Phyno, Eniola Badmus, Nasboi, Sydney Talker, and Peruzzi. Etc gifted Davido 1 Million Naira each.

Brands are not also left out as  Kolaq Alagbo, Munch It, TravelBeta, etc.made their donations too.

Kid comedians, Ikorodu Bois, however, sent the singer a sum of N5000 while Baba Ali sent N1.5m, while MC Galaxy, sent N3m and Oba Elegushi sent N5m to the singer.

Davido’s baby mama, Sophia Momodu, also sent money to the singer. However, he did not disclose the amount sent.

Reactions and screenshots on social media also indicates that other Nigeria fans sent him their donations, it becomes more comic as screenshots of 500 naira donations fly  around on social media.
