Osinachi Husband Risk Death Sentence; Not Yet Sentenced

The news making round on social media about husband of late gospel musician Osinachi being sentence to death by hanging maybe false as official statement to that effect have not been seen.

In the development the federal government Federal Government has filed 23-count charges against Peter Nwachukwu, husband of Osinachi. He is being charged with culpable homicide, i.e. acts which resulted to her death (not necessarily that he killed her)

The charges include that;

He emotionally, verbally and psychologically abused her. He is accused of humiliating her by making utterances like ‘you are smelling,’ ‘you are mad,’ to her in the presence of her music crew members, forcefully ejected her from “the family home.” He once pushed her out of a moving vehicle.

He beat the children, record their cry with his phone and also threatened them so they do not report incidences of domestic violence in their home to pastor Paul Enenche or anybody.

She denied  access to her money for medication and household necessities, an act which forced her into begging and borrowing.

Forcefully isolated and separated her from her family by preventing her family from visiting their matrimonial home.

The accusation is summarily that Mr Nwachukwu knew that the probable consequence of these acts would be Mrs Osinachi's death.

If found guilty, culpable homicide is punishable with death.

Although we are crying over spilled milk, we will pursue this matter to ensure that justice is done to that late singer’s family and to ensure deterrence to others, so that nothing like this will ever happen.”
